Uveitis??

My Psychologist told me yesterday that she has only about 10 WLS patients and about 3 or 4 of us have uveitis? Uveitis is an inflammation of the uve of the eye, (whi*****ludes the iris, pupil, and inter-eye) It is an autoimmune disease. I was wondering if any one here has it. My theory has always been that my weight is putting a terrible strain on my body including my immune system. And that when I get to a healthier body weight alot of my physical ailments will resolve themselves. My psychologist name is Jane Woodrow from AThens OH. I wanted to see if anyone else had noticed a connection with obesity and autoimmune conditions. Thanks for any help. Take Care Renee

Hi, it's me again I was told by a doctor that my eyes stuck out, which is sometimes a symptom of Graves disease, but he said I obviously didn't have that, I assume he said that because it also causes weight lose. As far as autoimmune problems...do you have an hour. I am anemic, and prone to infections. There is something "going on" in our family but nothing concrete. Both my sister and father passed away from rare blood disorders but they were the only normal sized people in my family. So I'm not sure what to relate it to. My brother has fibromyalgia. All of us females have had problems with our periods. That's interesting about the eye thing, I had never heard that term before. Do you see that doctor regularly? I was/am in need of counseling and went to the campus place for I think 4-5 visits and didn't get anything from it...I need someone to challenge me not just listen.
