Orientation Mtg. Mid Ohio (Mt Carmel)
Went to mandatory mtg after a 1 1/2 month wait to get a spot and was told best case was a 4-6 month wait if lucky. I was disappointed that they gave out no info previously and learned nothing new except the wait time. I just wish they would have sent me the paperwork and I could have beena month-and-a-half closer as the timing of summer was my major hope. Anyone else got o Mt Carmel West or Mid Ohio? They say Dr. Custer is leaving the program if I heard correctly.
Hi, I had my surgery at Mt. Carmel. My surgeon is Dr. Custer. I haven't heard that he's leaving. I certainly hope not. My wait was not 4-6 months.After approval...my surgery was 4 weeks later.
MidOhio does have a new surgeon. I fogot his name, however. You may want to inquire about him. He assisted in my surgery.

I called Carrie today to find out what the deal was with Dr Custer. I just had my consult with him and reading your post concerned me. I was told that Dr. Custer will be leaving the program in June. She said my surgery would not be delayed by him leaving. Dr Price would do my surgery instead. They told me it would be about 4-6 months for the whole process for me as well. I think that it a pretty average wait. BAriatric surgeons are very busy. It is worth the wait to have a reputable surgeon do this though. Especially since the consequences are permanant. I hope everything works out for you.
I am sorry he is leaving as he has a very good reputation. I was getting worried about inadvertantly starting a rumor. Whew! Thanks for the replies.I did get accepted to BTC, but they are not in my insurance network. (UHC Choice Plus) Thanks Venita. And Joni, thank you also. Good luck to you all.
