Has anyone every been to one?

I was wondering if anyone out there has ever been to any of the Regional Support Group Events? I was emailed about one on June 6th, in Wheeling WV and I was considering going with my husband. I live in Grove City (suburb of Cols Oh) and Wheeling isn't that far. It sounded interesting. I am about 10 months post op (down 116 pounds) and my hubby is getting ready to have his surgery June 9th So timing of this is awesome. I would like to get some feed back before I put down the money, travel and take time off work to go. I think it would be great for the both of us, as we are at different stages. I have emailed and called the OH number listed and haven't heard anything back yet, so if any one has any insight or recommendations I would greatly appreciate it. Man I really need to get an after picture up dont' I???

i have been toying with driving to wheeling too- but i am not really sure that the content of the day is what i want--wow--no matter how i say this it doesn't sound good! i am questioniong what the event will offer? i would be driving more than 3 hours each way--even if i come with others-- and don't want to pay just to eat--i would enjoy meeting ppl that i have talked to on here tho--but i am wanting to knowe more about the program.....any handouts...any give aways...etc hmmmm...have i buried myself yet??????

No hou haven't buried yourself yet. I was kind of following your line of thinkinging tho. My drive wouldn't be as far as yours, but I was looking for the same answers!! Hopefully someone will read the posts and fill us in on this a little more. I feel the same was as you, how do you say is it going to be worth my while without making it sound negative?? What am I going to get from this? Ok...anyone with answers to this we are awaiting!! Thanks Margo.
