MMOH Eliminating WLS

Just got a call from CCBS - I have MMOH SUpreMed + COSE. They will be excluding WLS from their policy on 7/1/04. You have to have your surgery completed and out of the hospital by 6/30/04.

Deby, Please excuse me for asking but who is CCBS? How did you find out that they are not going to pay for surgery anymore.

CCBS - Cleveland Center for Bariatric Surgery - its at St Vincents Charity Hosp. If the company you work for havs MMOH coverage through COSE, they are going to exclude it from their policy. I have not actually gotten the letter, but CCBS called me and told me, thankfully I was approved and we are scheduling my surgery befoer the end of the month.

This is not all MMOH policies, some groups are dropping the coverage, others are not. Check with your Human Resources officce or call the customer service number on you card.
