Support Groups???

I'm having my surgery in Dayton and their next support meeting is on the day that I have my surgery so I was wondering if anyone knew of any support groups in the Cincy area that I could get in? Of course my surgery is in 1 week but I will still like to see if I can find one for this week. Any ideas, let me know please. I need the support. I'm getting scared and really anxious feeling which isn't good for me because I have bad anxiety attacks. Thanks in advance! ~Sametta~

PJ, Sandy's support group is called a peer support group, meaning it is led by people who have had the surgery themselves. Our support group is a little different in that it is led by our dietitian and meant to be more of a class-type setting. The two are complementary, meaning there are some things you can get from one and not the other and vice-versa. We require you to attend our support group (if you live in the area). We also encourage (but not require) you to attend a peer support group like Sandy's. Our group in Cincinnati also has a Peer led Support group. CHeck with your surgeon for recommendations. our next meeting is the the 21st however. We do have a website you can go to. I urge you to try different types of groups to find what works best. I am emailing you the link.

I live in Fairborn and am having my surgery at OSU. What groups are held in Columbus or nearer to me.?
