help!!

My new PCP will not write a letter of medical necessity because she says she hasn't been seeing me long enough. I am 5'3" 241 and have tried almost everything to lose the weight. I have a letter from my gyno, foot doctor and chiro all in favor of me having surgery. Anthem BC/BS requires a letter from your pcp what should I do?

I hate to hear that. I don't think that is right. Maybe she doesn't support the surgery. My pcp retired so I had to find another pcp. I stayed within the same group of drs. I had my 1st appt with another dr and ask him about it and he said "NO WAY". So I said "NO WAY I am gonna see you again!" So I scheduled another appt with another dr in the same group again. I hit her with the wls the first time I saw her and she is totally behind me 100%. She is doing all she can do to help me. Does your pcp have all of your past records? Maybe you want to get another pcp. I know that is a pain. Good luck. PJ wfad or waiting for a date

Thanks for getting back with me PJ. I am looking for another PCP but I am worried that because I don't have a history with the new doctor like this doctor they wouldn't be willing to support me in my goal either. This really stinks. Glad to hear that things are working out for you, it gives me hope!!! Really I guess its in God's hands. Mary

Hello Mary...There are PCP's out there who will write you a letter without hesitation, based on your old records. They are out there, so keep trying. Good Luck

HI PJ love you girl sending prayers

I was only with my PCP for about 6 months or so and he has some of my old info and he wrote me the letter and is behind me 100% I love him he is so nice everytime I go to see him he asks me the same questions," ok now you know the risks and you are ok with them right?" and I all ways answer the same way, " yes I do and yes I am " He was so thorough with his testing before he gave his ok but I think that was good just shows he cares
