HELP!!!

I dont know what to do now..I live in Portsmouth ohio have an Ohio medical card and started the process w/ Sonja Lichenstein. I had turned in all the paper's I needed to, and thought I would give them a call today being its been 4-5 months since I've turned all the stuff in..what do you know when I call they told me she stop'd doing the gastric bypass surgery and nobody around portsmouth is doing them that accepts the card. Okay I can understand if you dont do the surgery anymore, but what I dont understand is why wouldnt you call your patients to let them know something..Does anyone know of any good Doc's in ohio that accept the Ohio Medical Card? Please let me know so I can once again get the ball rolling.. thanks so much take care jacqueline

Jacqueline, I am not sure if Dr. Trace Curry does or not, but I would highly recommend him. He is in Cincinnati, Ohio, and practices out of Deaconess Hospital. I had my surgery with Dr. Derrick Martin. His office is at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH. I do not know if he accepts the medical card - his number is 937-208-6316. He is the best in our area!

Yes I highly recommend Trace Curry too and I believe he does take the card! He, his staff and Deacones were wonderful. I am just waiting for a date. Oh yeah and they could and I believe should have let you know that tid bit of info!!!

Jacqueline: I believe Holzer Medical in Gallipolis is accepting medicaid/medicare payments for WLS surgery...you may want to check with them. I am seeing Dr. Grandia, who is super. Good luck in your search. Faye ONeal

I had the same exact thing happen to me. I was put "on hold" for what was suppose to be a short while, I contacted them several times and was still,"on hold". Just this year I tried to get through to them, mind you they have ALL my paperwork and I was told that Dr.***** no longer does WLS and he is taking a position at another Ohio hospital. I too have the Ohio Medicaid card and let me tell you searching for someone who accepts it is grueling! In my search I have found that Elyria Memorial Hospital in Elyia, Ohio and University Hospital in Cleveland both accept the card. Good Luck in your hunt!!!
