I just want to commend you for visiting this website! and I am overwhelmed that you actually take the time to respond. Truly, you must be a wonderful doctor and much loved by your patients. By the way, I'm having my surgery next month at St. V's so there is no ulterior here.

Ann, you're 100% correct. I had a consult with Dr. C and he agreed I needed the surgery. Unfortunately, Aetna threw a monkey wrench in things by requiring me to do a 6 month doctor supervised diet and my insurance terminates in 7 months! Went I vented on the website, I got an email from Dr. C who volunteered to help me with the alternative 3 month multidisciplinary program so we could be Aetna's time clock! His dietician is going to supervise the diet, I'm paying for water aerobics classes and Aetna has to pay for the Behavior Modification. Having said all that, Dr. C didn't have to intervene but, God Bless Him, he did and now I have hope. Best to you, Carol

Carol, I just love Dr. C. He spoke at my Support Group Meeting at Anderson Mercy Hospital, and I recommend anyone wanting to have surgery to go to him. Congratulations on your decision, and on picking a wonderful surgeon. Maybe one day I will see you at a Support Group Meeting of mine at Anderson Mercy Hospital. We meet on Friday nights. For more information go to imnotfatanymore.com. Love, Sandy Pierce

Doc C. You are the type of doctor that we all would like to have. You are caring and want to be sure that we get accurate information. My niece had RNY 2 years ago and had none of the preliminary stuff. She had many complications-one of which was taking her off her depression medications. She was on quite a large dose. It really threw her. Afterward she went into a grief for not being able to eat--this resulted in her drinking wine--lot of it. I think for the first year she was tippsy every day. Finally, she got very ill and when she went to hospital they discovered she was gaining weight (calories in wine) but not very healthy. Anyway, she stopped drinking and is doing much better and getting therapy she needed. I am awaiting the surgery approval. I think I've learned alot from her but I have gained so much knowledge from this site. That in part is your making sure that we have "good" information. God Bless You!! Sandy
