Has anyone heard of Vocational Rehab helping to pay for surgery if you can no longer work due to your weight? Thanks, Jennifer

Jennifer, 1. If you are no longer able to work because of your weight, you may be able to receive Social Security Disability or at least SSI (Suplemental Security Income). Once you apply for either of these you will be able to apply for Medicaid. I am on SSI and Medicaid, both have truly been life saving...I used them when I needed them and now look to be off both by the fall...since I am now close to being able to work again. 2. I've also registered with Voc Rehab for another issue after surgery, but I asked my case manager if they had every paid for WLS and he said there had been people who applied and started Voc Rehab services with the intention of WLS but never finished the process. So as to say VR was open to posibility of paying for WLS but the individual did not follow through...so there is a chance. Good Luck!
