Potential candidates should start weight loss program

I saw Dr. Custer this morning and even though I am a candidate for the surgery, he advised me to follow a medical weight loss program (supervised by a doctor) for six months before submitting it to the Insurance Company, so I will have to wait another six months at least. THEREFORE, my advice to anyone wishing to have this surgery done, start at supervised weight loss program as soon as you can, and this may help get your insurance approved sooner. Had I known this would be the case, I certainly would have started this MONTHS ago.

Hi Beverly, Yes, I found out yesterday about the 6 month required program. Too bad because my insurance expires in 6 months. Ask your doctor to appeal if you have other medical problems like sleep apnea, diabetes, etc. Good Luck!
