i want have the surgery but i am on medicaid... my question is will they cover it and how long and

Steve, Each medicaid is different. You will want to check with them. They are hard to get answers out of so be persistant. I do know that OSU in columbus takes medicaid...Maybe you can call them to get some of your answers.... I wish you the best in your journey. Don't give up! Hugs Lori

Steve, I am medicaid as well. Make sure you have at least a 6 month dr. supervised diet- check with them and find out EXACTLY how they want it and what they want the dr. to put down... also, have your doctor run tests to see if you have any co-morbities before you even attempt to get approval from medicaid. I had my tests done, but did not have the dr. supervised diet the correct way they wanted it and now, because the info on the charts wasn't the way they wanted it, I have to do a 6 month supervised diet (the insurance has denied my appeal due to this). I was told by one of the appeal processors that even with my dr. supervised diet, it does not mean it will get approved when resubmitted. Hope this helps. Jennifer
