Question about PS and Medicaid

I have Ohio Medicaid. Does anyone know if I they will cover my plastic surgery consult or do I need to get prior authorization? I told the surgeons secretary I had Medicaid and she didn't say anything but the forms they sent said it was my responsibility to check with insurance. Medicaid is like impossible to get ahold of on the phone. So anyone know?

Sarah, Have you tried calling the consumer hotline? I had Healthy Families Medicaid for a bit and I was almost always able to get through on the consumer line. Let me know if you need their number. Good luck in with trying to get P.S., you be in our thoughts. Hugs Lori

Thanks, I guess it's been awhile since I have tried to contact Medicaid...I called the number on the card and got a quick response. They said I can see the doctor without prior auth., but would need it before any services were provided.

Hi I would really like to know what you have found out about Medicaid and PS if you don't mind. I am in KY waiting for a date with Dr. Curry in Cincinnati for wls. I am definitely gonna needs PS. Thanks for any info. Good Luck to you too! PJ
