Any update Lori B?

Has anyone heard how Lori B is doing after surgery? She had it on 3/26. I went to a support group meeting that she was at just prior and her date was orginally 4/15 but got moved up. Hope everything is well.

Hi Debby - I'm finally home. I stayed with my parents for a week and they do not have a computer. Surgery went well - however the pain was 10X worse than I expected, but then again everyone is different. I am glad it is over with! This second week is SO much better than the first - so remember to hang in there and remember it will get better! When is your date???? Lori

Hey - Glad you are OK! I plan to stay with my Mom for a fee too. So I asume you went with open vs lap? How is the hunger? Everyone says they aren't hungry and have to force themselves to eat. do you know if you have lsot any yet? OK, enough questions I will let you rest and heal! I don't have a date yet. My insurance has denied my request - no spuervised diets. Its along story, but wasn't told I needed any documentation on that so we didn't send in any. I am appealing as we speak. If this doesn't work I am going to self pay and fight later with an attorney. Please keep in touch and take care of yourself. Debby

Hey Deb - ask all the questions you want! I don't mind. Yes I had the open - as for the hunger you are right the first week or so I had to set times to make myself eat (or should I say drink in this case). Today is Day 11 for me so I advance on to pureed foods. I am having cereal as we speak - take a bite between readings - great way to pace yourself. Good luck with your apeal!!!! Lori

Hey WOO WOO Pureed food! I bet you are glad. Instead of posting email me direct at [email protected] ok? I sent my apeal letters and documentation to CCBS this morn to have sent in - we'll see. They have 30 days to reconsider. I am not that positive they will. My endo Doc sent a letter, it has specific info to my diabetes and that I have atempted non-surgical weight loss, but since it was not specifically noted in my chart files I don't know if they will accept. I also attached my progess chart from curves and some articles that were on WebMd along with my claim history as to expenses that they have to pay due to the diabetes. Cut as I said before if they turn me down again I am going to borrow and pay myself and let an attorny fight it out with them later - my health is the issue not the money. On a cherrier note...
