Looking for a surgeon in Dayton, OH, who is on United Health Care insurance.

I have United Health Care insurance, My primary care physician recomended, Dr. Rita Hadley, however her office said they are no longer with UHC. Can anyone give me the name of a surgeon in Dayton who is covered under UHC? thank you so very much.

I'm going through Dr. Martin in Dayton...He does the surgery larproscopically and will only do open if necessary. His office is at Miami Valley Hospital on the 6th floor, the first step is to go to the seminar which is free and they are held the 2nd Thursday of each month.

I'm using Dr. Martin too. I think he takes United. I was told he will only do Lap now. If an insurance company won't pay for a Lap and will only pay for an Open...he'll do the Lap and only charge for the Open.

Hi, Kathy I am also in Dayton, and have researched this for the last 6 months. I have read numerous reviews of Doctors that perform this surgery, and I found Dr. Gersin in Cincinnati to be the most qualified and has the best before and aftercare in this part of Ohio. I believe they do take united Health Care. I have read that Dr. Hadley and his associate Dr. Mcguire of Dayton, have said he is one of the best in the country. He taught this procedure at the Cleveland Clinic which also sounds good to me! Anyway, I am in the process now, and have all my tests set up, so I know how long and hard this process is now. I just wish someone had told me sooner about Dr. Gersin! He is with the UC center for surgical weightloss. They have a web site at http://ucsurgeons.com/bariatric/ . I know Cincinnati is a lot farther than you might want to go, but if you take the time to read the bios of the doctors in Dayton and the patient reviews of those doctors, you might change your mind!
