Hi Pam; I had my original surgery 9/30/1999 and my revision on 5/22/03 with Dr. Moreira. We have several fine doctors here who would probably consider doing a revision including Dr Fallang, Dr Curry etc. A revision is essentially a new bypass. In my case the pouch had become as large as a second stomach.

Dr Fallnag practices here in Ohio at the deaconess. I believe he is new to this area but I hear good things about him. He is coming to speak to our local support group on May 21, 2004. Dr. Moreira no longer does gastric bypass due to malpractice rates being higher and also many insurance companies here are no longer covering the gastric bypass. Dr Curry posts on this board also so I am hoping he will read this.

Hi Pam, I don't know about your exact situation, but for a revision, I would highly encourage you to find some place local if at all possible. Revisions are much more prone to complications, delayed recovery, etc. Have you had your anatomy investigated to find out what the cause of the failure is yet?
