Denied again

Was denied again due to not having the 6 month dr. supervised diet, soooo i guess I will be doing that next..no sense fighting anymore. I will play by "their game"... I love it, my doctor has always had me on diets and exercises! But what he had down wasn't good enough for Summa! I guess it is okay since Dr. Jaroch isn't going to practice anymore and the only dr. I can find in Summit County is new at doing gastric bypass...He won't be taking patients until he opens up that practice in August. He's a general surgeon right now and is established at his practice, but has decided to start doing the WLS and will begin in August, so I guess I will be patient. Kinda makes me nervous that he is going to be new at this surgery.. I am a little worried that there could be complications due to his "newness" at this surgery. Jen

Jen, I am in a similar boat as you are. Even though my PCP has always been having me do diets and exercise programs, and he doesn't trust diet pills, I am afraid my insurance won't accept me because not everything is written in my charts. So I am trying one more time by writing down everything I eat and every bit of exercise I do, myself. Then I will just make copies for him and insert myself when I mail out the letters he is sending. Good Luck on your diet and exercise program! Being as the Dr. is new to WLS is there some sort of background/schooling check you can do on him? Maybe go to a near by county that your insurance will pay for and use that DR.? Are either of those an option for you? I wish you the best of luck! Hugs lori

jen, i am sorry for ur denial i know what u r feeling. i was denied 3 times due to the same thing and dr didnt have it wrote down as supervised diet so they didnt except it so i started over did the 6 mo supervised and was approved...... so keep fighting hang in there it will happen
