Question about baby aspirin during pregnancy post-op
We are going to try to conceive next month and my OB strongly suggests I take a baby aspirin everyday while I'm pregnant because of my history of 2 miscarriages.
Now, from what I understand...I can take baby aspirin as long as it doesn't go through my pouch, right? If I take it sublingually, I'll be ok?
I'm going to ask when I go to my 1 year post-op appt., but I'm not a patient person, lol, and I like to have answers immediately.
I REALLY want to make sure I do what's best for my body while at the same time making sure I do everything in my power to carry a baby to term. This will be our last chance to have another and I don't want to risk anything. If this time doesn't go to term, we're not trying again. I can't go through another miscarriage.
Thanks! I hope someone can help.

The best answer is ask your surgeon. My surgron just said NONE for 3 months. If your are worried about ulcers try the enteric coated aspirin 81mg strength. That should help. The enteric coated has a cover on the outside that makes it digest in the lwer GI not the stomach/pouch. Best of luck much love and prayers sent the way of you and your family.........

I read my surgeon's material closely and kind of surprised him when I went to my first post op appointment. I had written down the list of meds and supplements I was taking - including a baby aspirin every day for the first 3 weeks after surgery! He apparently didn't know that was in the instructions! (I think everything has been revised since then.) I had no ill effects.(It was to help prevent blood clots in the first few weeks after surgery.) At any rate, check with your surgeon, and it may work out. I hope all goes well for you.

I made my 1 year appt. today with Dr. Adolph on April 16th. I'll ask him about it then. Meanwhile, I have an HSG in the works. If I can't be fit in on Wed. or Thurs., I have to wait til next month (they can only do it on certain days of a woman's cycle). Its a test where dye is shot up into the fallopian tubes and uterus and then tracked by x-ray. It has immediate results and we'll see if there is a reason that I've miscarried twice. I had a huge round of blood tests done in Feb. to see what the cause was, but those showed no abnormalities at all.
Wish us luck!! hopefully by June we'll be pregnant!!
