There is nothing on this place because it is still fairly new. When the dr's (2 of them) decided on starting this new venture, I was invited down (from toledo) to attend the first seminar. They knew before I went down what my insurance was and quoted me a price for their program. Even called me the evening before to make sure I would be attending. I was pysched! So my mother and I went on a road trip, 3 hours and... while I sat through this seminar (after i fixed his stupid pp presentation, even) He started talking about insurances, led me on some more, said your insurance is probably the best, because they cover all hospital costs and all other dr's involved in this process, HOWEVER they will not pay my surgeons fee, so I cannot accept you as a patient. Needless to say, what started out at approximately $1000 out of pocket money, turned into $5-6000 real quick. He also proceeded to blow other people out of the water in rapid succession. Since I am on SS and Medicaid this much out of pocket was/is a joke. Anyway, I've only seen one gal note on this entire site about the main dr once, and she really didn't mention his name until I emailed her. She works for him. I truly feel if a surgeon is only doing this to make the $$$$, that scares me to death. Maybe it has others also, perhaps this is why nothing is on the site about this bariactric center. Anyways, nice bedside manner, bad business skills IMHO.

My husband went to Dr. Meyers at Fresh Start Bariatric. He is into it for just the money. He has a $900 program fee which is NOT COVERED BY ANY INSURANCE. The $900 fee also is for a fitness center there in Mansfield which they expect you to attend at least 3-4 days a week post surgery. Well , we live 1 hour from there and asked if we could join a fitness club in our area and the cost of the fitness deducted from the program fee as $400 of that fee is for the Mansfield center. We were told we would stay have to pay the $900 and they would send what ever it cost for the club in our area. I get the impression that Fresh Start is into this for just the money. Not a very patient friendly bariatric program. You have to set up all your own appointments with the area Doctors and dieticians. His program is way out of hand if you live out of his immediate area. I dont see him getting many patients from out of town unless he makes some changes to his bariatric program. They had cancelled numerous appointments and we always had to reschedule so we could do all the appointments on the same day as he wants you to see various specialist (they all need their share of money for this procedure) If you live out of the Mansfield area I would not recommend this Doctor.

Hi there, I was also considering going to Fresh Start. After reading your comments I have decided to check into going to Cleveland instead. Thanks, Audra M
