Anyone have Choice Care Humana Insurance?? (HMO)

and if you do have you had any problems getting approval for WLS surgery?

I have Choicecare Humana n I had surgery in 2003 n had no problems getting approved. BUT beginning in Jan 2004 my employer put in written exclusion with choicecares help denying bypass. Each company is different so call them. Also check out www.wlsbutterflynetwork.org

Renee, I have Choice Care/Humana and am having surgery in March. When I called Humana in 2003 to see if it was covered they told me it was. But, in 2004 they were supposed to not cover it. So I just figured it would not be approved. Then Dr.Bruce/Clarey's office called and said it was approved. The billing person at the office told me Humana was one of the easier ones to approve and can be done over the phone. They faxed my info. in and got the approval the next day. Hope this helps. Yeah my husband told me that in 2004 that they would no longer cover the surgery!!! But they are covering yours Alison?? hhhmmmm guess it wont hurt to try then. Thanks
