I got my approval from Medical Mutual for my DS!

Yeahhhh! It finally happened and was worth waiting for. I got my insurance approval with Medical Mutual. When I first started this procedure back in September, I didn't even know about the DS. I was going for a RNY. Noelle, Dina, Nikki and other wonderful people started to educate me. I got approved for the RNY, but went back to request the DS. Dina convinced me that where there's a will, there's a way. If they turned me down, I would somehow go out of the country, but I was not going to have my goal blocked. My wonderful husband was willing to make the sacrifices for me to have what I wanted. I'm so glad I hung in there and they gave me what I wanted - Dr. John Maguire and a DS. All I wanted for Christmas was a surgery date and I have it! It's February 9th. I waited for the approval, now it's going to be all I can do to wait for that date. I wake up several times a night thinking to myself, "Is another day gone yet?" I work full time, but I don't even want to go out for fear that I might fall on the ice and delay my surgery date or catch a cold. I don't want anything to delay that time - I don't think I could stand it! Thanks again for all you guys have taught me. Kathy

The Ds is a procedure where they actually remove part of the stomach that you no longer use. I wish my surgeon had done it but now it is too late. Oh well live and learn. Good luck to all. I could be wrong in this.

Congratulations Kathy!! I'm very happy you got your approval for the DS. I know you will be very happy with Dr. Maguire; he's the best. Don't worry too much about the time, it will go very quickly and soon you will be on the losing side. Ginny
