Consultation Scheduled OSU

Hi, I have been thru my dietician classes and have date to meet Dr. Needleman on the 23rd of this month. Hoping I get a surgery date then. Don't know how long inbetween it takes. I know you have to go thru some testing pre-op I think is what they call it. What kind of test do you have to go thru. Any info would be greatly appreciated from anyone out there. Hey there Donna... I am currently going through the LEARN program with Bev Maselli @ OSU. Is that the same class you took? What was the time span between your last class and getting the date to meet with Needleman? Thanks!

How do I go about finding a weight loss program at OSU? I am right here in Columbus, Ohio. There are so many numbers and departments.

Donna, I don't know if I answered you or not. I found it on the computer and they e-mailed me an application to fill out and send in. Then things went on from there. I sure you could callOSU and ask for the weight loss program or wait jus ta minute and see if I have a phone number 614-293-2810. Hope this helps. I just had my surgery with OSU's Dr Melvin on the 15th. I had my original consultation with him back on Oct 24th, so it took me a little over 6 weeks to get a surgery date. My Pre-Op testing was nothing, but I also don't have any comorbids and I'm young (only 24). All Dr Melvin ordered for pre-op testing was a Chem-7 and CBC blood draw. Good luck! Amy

I had my classes in August at OSU and waited almost 8 weeks for my consultation with D. Needleman. They sent me a letter stating that that had so many patients and for me to be patient. I met with Dr. Needleman on Nov 10th and scheduled my surgery date right there in the office. I am schedule for 12-31-03! Wish me luck!
