Need help in Toledo Area

I am pre op and trying to get the psych. test done. Two of the clinics I spoke to will not bill my insurance even though the insurance said they should be covered. I do not want to pay out the $400.00 up front and hope for reimbursment. Anyone had the test local and have a good name? Thanks for any help.

Hi Debbie, I was able to get into see Ester Beckman who is on Holland/Sylania Rd in Toledo. She did not require me to pay anything up front. My insurance is suppose to cover me also. You may want to look her up and check it out. She works with many Pre-op Gastric By Pass Patients. Good luck! Kathy Petersen

Hi Debbie! I also had to find somewhere to have my psych test done. There is a great doc on Monroe near Franklin Park/ Westfield Shopping Town by the name of Dr. Robert Mulheisen. They work well with insurance companies. I only had to pay 20 bucks. He is easy to talk to and will type up your report in record time, no stalling( think it was about a week).He is understanding and is an advocate for the surgery. He came recommended on a list of psychs from a local surgeons office. If you have any questions let me know. Good luck with your journey. Shontae

Hi Debbie I'm a fellow Toledoan as well and had the same problem you did with psychiatrists and insurance. I ended up driving up to Novi Michigan and seeing Dr. Robert Garcia. The man is awesome. He got me in the day after I called for an appointment. I was tested and had my letter in hand in about three days. He's worked with quite a few Gastric Bypass patients as well. I know that's a heck of a drive to see a psychiatrist, but it was worth it to me just to get it done and over with Good luck to ya April
