Anyone Know About Dr. Derrick Martin???

I am from Illinois and have recently made an appointment with Dr. Derrick Martin. I am scheduled to have my initial consultation with him on November 20th. I go to the group consultation before that on the 13th of November. I was curious if anyone knew...it says on his webpage that people need to have a BMI of atleast 35 and commorbidities, well all others I've seen have required that OR a BMI of 40 with or without commorbidities...is this the case or is it a MUST that you have commorbidities to qualify for his procedure?!? Any info would help greatly!

Dr. Martin is my surgeon. I would recommend calling the office. They are very friendly and will answer any questions that you may have.

I have heard good things about him. I know one person in Hamilton who he operated on but have misplaced her name.9But can get it again) she only had good things to say. she has never dumped or vomited but she did exactly like he told her post op. I plan to attend the group consultation on Nov 13 also. I have osteoarthritis and osteoporosis. In fact am on Social Security Disability due to the back .I am 59 and a retired LPN. where do you livemaybe we could meet on the 13. I had my surgery on August 21, 2006, it was a little rough at first (due to the hospital, not the doctor) but the results right now are great. I have lost 67 pounds so far, and I could not have picked a better doctor. Dr. Martin is very caring, funny and has a great bedside manner. Plus he knows what he is talking about. I went to several doctors before my surgery and after I met Dr. Martin I knew right away that he was the doctor for me. Just remember, the sucess is up to you by following the diet plan and excersing (I walk daily). Just know that you are in wonderful hands with Dr. Derrick Martin.
