Due to the $10,000 cap on my Medical Mutual super med plus, I had too cancel my surgery for Sept. 8th today. It was very hard since I've been working for this almost a year. Dr. Maguire's office said to complain to the ins company. If anyone has any ideas about how we can get this decision reversed....I'm all for it. I did have my primary dr. write a very firm letter detailing why it is necessary for me to have this surgery. My employer is very supportive and can't understand why our policy isn't covering it. I have MMO also. A lot depends on when you were approved. Were you approved BEFORE July 1, 20023? If so there is hope your still covered undered the "old" policy. If you were approved after July 1, will then it's up to your employer. They are the ones that make up the policies and tell MMO what to do. Good Luck, Robin

I also have Medical Mutual SuperMed Plus and was told by Medical Mutual that my policy did not have the $10,000 maximum lifetime cap on it......I was so thankful.....When I first saw the possibility of a $10,000 maximum on Gastric Bypass surgery, I thought for sure that I would have to give up the idea of having the surgery. I hope everything works out for you. ROGER

I have Medical Mutual super med plus also, and was told I do not have a cap on my insurance for surgery. It really depends on the policy you have. I just hope it does not change for me. It pays 100% professional and 80% facility.
