I am in the process of looking for a surgeon to do my Gastric Bypass surgery and I just heard that they only cover $10,000 maximum for the surgery and all other costs associated with the surgery. I just wanted to know if this $10,000 cap pertains to ALL Medical Mutual policies or just certain ones. I haven't contacted Medical Mutual yet....that is my next step. I have Medical Mutual SuperMed Plus. I was just wondering if anybody might have some more information on this $10,000 cap. I can't believe that they could do that to us. I was all excited about the WLS until I heard about this. I don't know what I would do if they only cover $10,000. Any help would be appreciated. ROGER

I have MMO also. It all depends on what your employer wants they are the ones that tells MMO what to do. This change took place July 1, 2003. I called they looked up the policy and thankfully I'm one of the lucky ones. My husbands employer still has full coverage as long as it's a medical necessity. You need to call and have them look up the master policy and see what it says. Good Luck, Robin
