Hotels in Columbus area?

I was wondering if there is a hotel close by OSU Med Center and do they give discounts for families of surgery patients. I live about 72 mi from columbus and would like my husband to be close especially th efirst night when I have WLS. Thank you, Natalie

Natalie-definitely call and ask your surgeon's office about the discount and if they would recommend any hotels nearby. I know there are a couple on olentangy river road which would be relatively close. But there are also parts of downtown and campus that you clearly want to avoid ;) Good Luck to you!!!!

Natalie, check with the hospital. Your husband may be able to stay in the room with you. I know here in Cincinnati, quite a few hospitals have a little love seat in the room that folds out to make a bed. When I was taken up to my room, one of the first questions the nurse asked was whether my husband would be staying - and they would make up the bed for him! (I sent him home - long day for him, too). I think a couple even have guest rooms in the hospital. So call the hospital and ask before you book a hotel room. Good luck!
