Hello, to everyone.

My name is Debbie. I'm pretty new at this although I've been thinking about wls for awhile. I have a very long way to go on my journey and it is about as mind boggling as doing taxes or dealing with the government in any way. So, I have to learn to be patient. I think I know what program I want to go through as well as a surgeon as long as my insurance covers it. I've been researching a lot on tthe computer but I don't really know anyone who has done it. I'm looking to find a local support group in the Cleveland heights/University heights/South Euclid area. If anyone knows of any please let me know. Anyway, I just wanted to say hello. I am married to Andy. We have no children unless you consider my 8-1/2 year old Golden, Expo my baby. I am totally blind and he is also my 3rd guide dog. I'm not presently working but am looking in customer service. I've had my share of rejection letters. I can't decide they happened because I'm blind or because of my weight. And, nobody's gonna tell me, either. Well, I'll say good night for now. I'll check back.

Welcome Debbie, I can't help you with the area your in but I can tell you about a great support group here in Cincinnati. It's IMNOTFATANYMORE.COM and we call ourselves the Midwest Losers. If you go to the website you can get tons of support from very friendly people. I'm not sure were your located at but you and Andy are more than welcome to come to one of our meetings. The next one will be August 8th at Anderson Mercy Hospital on State Road. It's from 7-9. The website has a place to give you directions if you need them. Again welcome and good luck on your journey.

Hi Debra, I am not in your area either, but I'm sure you will get some responses of local groups. Even on this site there is a section on group meetings, under EVENTS. There are listings for:Orange Village, Westlake, Madison, Sandusky, Findlay, Cleveland, Youngstown, Port Clinton, Ashtubula, Elyria, Willowick, and Hudson. Monica
