I have not had this surgery yet. I had my first visit with the doctor who is my boss. He is just starting this kind of surgery. The Lord has helped me in so many ways so far. Your help with your prayers will be greatly appreciated. I am very concerned about eating 6 small meals a day because right now I am going to start this venture before surgery. I do not know what makes a small meal and how much I can eat. If anyone out there can help me please send me a message. God Bless of you for your support Linda

Linda, I am sending a prayer your way! I am pre-op so I don't have a lot of knowledge yet about the meals. I have yet to see a dietition, but am hoping they are able to give me more info. I have also been told eating 6 small meals a day post-op isn't hard because you simply aren't hungry. In fact, it can be difficult to eat that much food because you will be full. Good Luck to you in your journey!

Linda, I am 5 months post-op from Lap RNY. I know that each dr. is differant in what they what for you after surgery. I can tell you about mine. I was on prueed food when I left the hospital and was on that for 4-5 weeks. Then the next 4 weeks I was on soft foods. After that he let me introduce a solid food as tolarated (sp) I was eating 60 cc or 2 oz of food in an hour spand. Making sure to eat protein first. It's hard to get the protein in through food the first month or so cause your not eating a lot. I was drinking protein shakes and taking vitamans. I tried to eat every 2-3 hours. I still have trouble getting 6 meals in a day. If you need more information you can e-mail me @ [email protected] I hope I helped some. Good luck on your journey.
