My surgeon wants me to lose some weight before he will do the surgery due to my high BMI. I have been successfully working on this but need to find a place to get weighed in the Akron area that canw weight someone that is over 400 pounds. Does anyone know where I could go. I was using Physicians Weight Loss but now that I am no longer a paying member I don't think they will let me use their scales to prepare for having surgery since they are so against that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I need to find out how much more I need to lose so that I can get back into the surgeons office. Thanks. Hope everyone is having a great holiday weekend.

Kathryn, Have you tried a hospital near you, they should have a scale you can use. Laura

Kathryn how far are you from CCBS? You should be able to use their scale .... or how about your PCP? I know my PCP lets me just come on in and weight when I want to. I hope that helps give you a few ideas. Deanna

My nutritionist said to find two regular scales and place a bord over both of them to even it out. Should give you a good representation because weight will be evenly distributed. Subtract the weight of the board and add the two sides up.

You can buy reasonably priced scales on line at drugstore.com. There are a lot of places on line that sell them but this is the cheapest that I found. Goodluck!!
