I am from the Cleveland area. My surgeon was Dr Schauer, had my surgery in  July 2010.

Tips, 

I would say read and learn everything you can.

Get samples of chewable vitamins from celebrate, and bariatric advantage. Love their products. Celebrate Vitamins is in OHIO!

I would invest in as many different brands sample size protein powders now before surgery. I found a lot of things were too sweet or tasted too strong post op. I still dilute a packet of crystal light lemonade in 24 oz of water.

Enjoy the honeymoon period while it lasts. Establish good new eating habits. I found at about 3 years, I really needed to start paying attention and stop grazing.

Regain is real. 

I would do it again in a heartbeat. My type 2 diabetes is still in remission! I did my first 10 k at 50.

So good to see some Ohio peeps. I'm also with Dr Siddiqui in Dayton although I live 2 hours away. Down near West Union Oh.

Just had my 6 month diet end visit, turned in all the stuff, now waiting for United Healthcare to yay or nay me.

I'm excited but tired of waiting. Now I'm trying to find some RTD protein Isolate United will pay for. They said they will pay, but the durable med product comp.'s they go through only have stuff like Ensure, Boost etc. Way too many carbs/wrong protein.

Oh well, it gives me a project to keep busy with.

January 20th is my surgery date with Dr Sonnastine at Ohio Health Riverside.

YAY so excited.

Congratulations!  I just attended the seminar with Dr. Rana.  I have turned in all of the paperwork and am just waiting for my 1st consult.

Hi Danial, I'm scheduled for surgery up here in Akron (Summa Health) at the end of March, but will be moving to Columbus and looking for followup care with the Ohio Health team. Please let me know your thoughts on their physicians and your experience.

Dr Sonnastine and Dr Rana are both amazing and very caring.  I am sure you will like them and Ohio Health.

I'm from Massillon and am having surgery at Summa with Dr. Dan on March 7. Small world!
