Cedar Point - will I fit?

I'm going to Cedar Point in 8 weeks.  The last time I was there was 11 years ago when I weighed about 185 lbs.  I fit in the rides then from what I can recall but I also didn't ride everything then and they have newer rides now.

Can anyone tell me if they've been there recently and if they had any problems fitting in the rides (mainly the big roller coasters)?  I'm 205 lbs now and am trying to lose 20lbs before we get there.  I wear a slightly tight size 16 misses.

Thanks,

Alicia

I would think you would be just fine!  Went a couple weeks ago and I have atleast 30 pounds on you and wear a 20/22... There were a few kiddie rides they needed the jaws of life to get me out of (just kidding)... some Nascar track thing and the Tea Cups... other than that I was fine!

Have fun!!!

Thanks!  Did you go on any of the large roller coasters?  Any problems there?

Alicia,

You should be totally golden.  I went last year at my current weight  (259) and squeezed into most rides.  Although it was a tiiiiiight fit...lol jaws of life comment.

Most of the big rides have a "sample seat" for you to sit in to try it out before you wait in line if you're at all nervous about it.  The sample seat thing is before you get in line so you wouldn't have to take the walk of shame if you didn't fit.  I always like to look at the line of people too, to see if there's anyone bigger than me.  Yikes I can't wait to not have to do that anymore...

Sounds like you have nothing to worry about though.

I'm sure you will have an awesome day!!  :-)

I just came back from Cedar Point this week on Monday and I was able to ride 8 of the 10 great roller coasters and 2 of the ones I couldn't ride due to the seatbelt not fitting across my tummy were the Dragster and the Millenium. All the others I was fine on and they had a different type of seatbelt and safety harness. Each ride has a practice seat beside the entry to the lines and you should try it. The first one I didn't do that and go embarrassed with finding out at the ride itself it was 2" too short on the seat belt and then the 2nd ride I tried the seat in advance and just did something else while family waited the hour or more for that.

I'm in size 18/20 on bottom and M/L on the top now but I carry most of my weight that I have left to lose in the abdominal area now.

My goal is to measure my stomach/hips this summer and set myself a goal by next summer to be sure I'm down by those 2-4 inches and be free to ride anything.

Thanks for the responses!  I'm just nervous and don't want to have to do the walk of shame....I'm hoping for the best but from what I've read I think I'll need to avoid the MF ride at least.

Hi,

Thanks for the response.  Did you ride the big coasters?  Those are the ones we'll probably be riding the most.

The two I couldn't fit in had a seat belt that had to go across my stomach and hips and I was 2" short of it fitting. The other big roller coasters had safety harnesses that came down over the head and those all were fine.
