Hello I am 36 and diabled for many reasons. I have Medicare and Humana live near Kings Island am looking for a doctor who can do a revision on a RNY to a DS or VSG because my stoma is damaged beyond repair and the only foods that can be kept down are high in carbs so I am at 350lbs I am willing to travel as far north as Dayton or as far south as Erlanger Ky as far east as Portsmouth Ohio as far west as Indianapolis for a doctor who take these insurences and can perform it ASAP. Dr.  Curry is advertising all over this site and he is in your area.  I am new to al lof this but I've read some positive comments about his practice.  Why don't you give them a call.  www.thebanddoctor.com

I'm going to Dr John P Maquire at Premier Bariatrics premierbariatricassociates.com/default   I know two people in Atlanta who either have or will be going to him for revisions.  One had RNY in 2003 and had a DS from Dr M and the other had an open VGB and is having a DS done later in August.

My family doctor said she only recommends two surgeons in Dayton and typically starts with Dr M.  She'll give the second name if the patient's insurance doesn't cover Dr M.  A high school friend of mine used to be an OR nurse and has assisted Dr M in numerous surgeries.  She said he's very "old school and methodical" and everyone loves him because he puts patient care above all else.

After so many glowing recommendations, it was a no brainer for me to talk to him.  I'm hoping to have RNY in August.

Dr. Maguire is one of the only doctors left in the area who still does the DS.  Teel and Anderson have stopped doing them.

Dr. Maguire is also one of the few that will do a RNY to DS revision.  I would definitely check with him as I've spoke to many patients who've been very happy with their revisions.

Good Luck

I sent message to Doctor Curry via his web site and Dr Mcguire . Dr Curry doesnt show doing the rny to DS so I asked about it. Dr Mcguire does the DS and is in Dayton so as is Dr Keel so hopefully someone will reply. DR Kerlakian doesnt do revisions from RNY but recommended i check with others sense it is urgent.
Thanks

Would you be a candidate for a ROSE procedure?  Personally I would steer clear of the DS.  And absolutely would recommend Dr. Curry, he's the best.

I know Dr. Philip Schauer at Cleveland Clinic takes Medicare and does all kinds of revisions and likes challenges....

Don't know if that fits in your geographic area.....
