In October of 2009 I enrolled in a study through the Cleveland Clinic. January 7, 2010 I had gastric bypass done, and my bill? $55.00. The study covers the entire process.
The study is called STAMPEDE (Surgical Therapy And Medications Potentially Eradicate Diabetes Efficiently). It is a randomized study for patients that have Type II Diabetes. If you are interested in possibly being chosen to have the surgery done, please contact the Cleveland Clinic to see if you qualify! They still have openings in the study!
