I need to get back on track!!!
The best way to get back on track seems to be to go back to your eating habits from your early post-surgery days: emphasis on protein, protein, and more protein... and really limiting fats, carbs, and sugars. No snacking on anything that is not protein-rich. Also, if you have gotten out of the habit of drinking a lot of water during the day (I'm just over 2 years out and I have noticed a distinct decline in how much I drink lately), try to go back to drinking a lot of water throughout the day.
Sixteen pounds might seem like a lot, but it probably isn't in comparison to how much weight you originally lost. Since it sounds like you are eating because of your stress, it may also help to focus on ways other than eating to reduce your stress. Exercise, of course, is good to reduce stress and to take your mind off of food -- but I confess, I still HATE most forms of exercise. Different things work for different people, but anything you can find that will help you work off some of the stress and relax will help you not to use food to cope.
You CAN get those 16 pounds back off!

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
Im also 2 years out since my RNY and have also put on 16lbs. What is it with that number 16. I went to my nutritioninst a few weeks ago and she told me it is expected to gain around this number after the surgery. It is our bodies way of telling us we are FINALLY getting back to normal. NORMAL?!?!?! HOW IS THIS NORMAL?!?!? I wasnt exactly thrilled to hear this so now I am obsessed with every little morsel I put in my mouth and have realized I am starting to resort back to old eating habits pre surgery. So now I pay attention to what I eat and have kicked up my cardio at the gym and have set a goal of wanting to run/walk a 5 k in may, hoping this will give some incentive to loose these 16 lbs. the sad thing was I sadly went last night to walmart to buy a new pair of jeans to wear to a holiday party because my other jeans that are in my closet are now too tight and push up my extra skin............oh so sad. I started to cry in the dressing room because I had to go up a size............not good............even more incentive to loose the weight.
