Has anyone had an Adenosine Stress Test

I have my cardiac evaluation this coming week.  Has anyone had a Adenosine (SP) stress test? The cardiologist I saw wants me to have one.  I'm very uneasy about having the medically induced stress test, but I have bad knees and a back and would not do well with the exercise portion of this test, so he prefers to do the chemical induced stress test.  Please tell me your experience with the Adenoaise stress test

Relax... it's very simple.  They put you on a table, hook you up to the heart monitor, put in an IV, and start the monitoring.  After a certain period of time, they inject the drug. You will feel hot, your heart and breathing rates will go up, and your chest may feel a bit tight.  You will basically feel like you have just run quite a distance.  They continue to monitor your heart and after just a few minutes everything returns to normal.

I have had it done twice and it really isn't a big deal.  You will be fine.

I worked for a cardiologist and the test is really pretty straight forward.  Just remember the adenosine is supposed to make you feel like you ran on the treadmill, so don't panic when you start to feel winded or hot.  Don't be afraid to tell the doc whatever symptoms your having.  they need to know all of it, even if you don't  think it is important.  You didn't mention if it was a nuclear adenosine or plain adenosine.  Nukes take a bit longer, but give better pictures.  Again, nothing to worry about.  Good luck with your test!
