Stalled after 3.5 months Post-Op RNY

I am at 3 and a half months post-op currently but for some reason, I have stalled with my weight-loss. I have been trying to follow everything to the "T". I write in a Food Journal what I eat. I try to make sure that I'm only eating 6 grams of Fat & Sugar per serving. I also get in around 70-90 grams of Protein each day. I have been taking all of my nutritional supplements including; Multi-Vitamin with Iron, Calcium Chewables, & Vitamin B12. I have lost a total of 52 lbs. since January 12.

I originally had the Lap Band put in but after a year of only losing 12 lbs., we decided to have it removed and converted over to a Gastric Bypass. I was so happy to see the weight melting off of me over the past few months but now I am so very depressed about things stopping. I must note also that I suffer from RSD (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy) which is all through my body, so exercising is very difficult for me.

Did anyone else out there experience a stall in your weight loss from Gastric Bypass Surgery and if so, what did you do to jump-start it again? Any information that you can share such as; eating tips, food choices, recipes, etc..would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Marie

Marie

I can't see your ticker at work to see your start vs. goal but from posting on other boards, I see a lot of stalls with RNY this far out just keep up the protein and fluids and it will bust loose again.  It's a common time frame.......I have seen stalls as short as 2wks and as long as 6wks with RNY....just in recent time frames.

Hang in there, it will come off, you are doing the right things!  Just move your body as you are able.....90G of protein is really good, and drinking lots of fluids always helps.

Stalls SUCK but they are not forever. Keep doig what you are doing and the weight will come off. Right now your body is just catching up to what has happened to to. Stay off the scale and only weight once a week or if you can only weight once every 2 weeks.  You didn't mention about your fluid intake are you getting in at least 64oz of, water, crystal light, decafe tea/coffee??
Good Luck,
Robin

Thanks for the support.  I only weigh myself once a week but maybe I'll start doing it every two weeks instead.  I also drink 64 ozs. of water each day.

I hope to begin Physical Therapy again so that I can build up some strength in my legs.  For now I've been using once of those exercise balls to tone my thighs doing 3-sets of 25 while I watch T.V....;)

Thanks again for your support.......Marie

I hit a stall just recently and had to kick start my metabolism again.  I did this by going back on protein shakes for one meal a day and weighing and measuring agian and adding more exercise.
