How soon did you know

After all your info is sent over to your surgeons office.  How soon did you know you were approved?   I believe my psych evaluation was the last thing and I believe it was sent last week.    I have a few more visits to my pcp for the weight loss plan but they are going to see if they will accept every three months since I lost 123 lbs on my own during that time.  What do you think?  Will they accept that instead of the six months?

Thanks

My approval came through in three weeks but the office didn't get the official record until I called again and again and again and emailed and faxed my letter to them.  The insurance company kept telling them that there was no letter........(UHC).  So I was delayed in scheduling surgery to say the least. It probably added two weeks to my schedule, but they did "rush me in" as a result of my inconvenience.

Depends on what your insurance requires, mine required 6 months nut/weight loss program and wouldnt accept anything less then 6 months I had PPO Med mutual. Once it was submitted I heard back within 2 weeks. Good luck

Well I called the insurance person at my surgeons office today.  I am even more confused.  I haven't seen a nutrionist in two years but they told me that my PCP was good enough for the weight loss program.  I would have three more times to see  her. DO I need a nutritionist and the doctors visits?  I go to my doctor (PCP) tomorrow and will ask her about it also.  They were going to just send it in the way it was because I had seen her every three months for five years and have lost 123lbs on my own.  I guess that is still not good enough.  It is the waiting that is the most terrible and frustrating.  I guess I have to complet the six months and see a nutritionist?

I am disappointed, I thought they would submit it the way it was.

Thanks for all of you *****sponded, I really appreciate it

Try calling your actual insurance company and see if you can talk to someone about it. That is your best bet and then you will know for sure and wont have wasted your time. Good luck I hope everything turns out to be what you want and you dont have to go through the 6 months but like I said if it was me and it was a year ago  I would call the actual insurance company. keep me updated as to what your told. Good luck
