dr lalor of bowling green

hi everyone,
just have a quick question. has anyone had surgery with Dr. lalor of bowling green? if so how did it go. also has anyone specifically has vsg done with him? I'm considering having this done but not sure if insurance will approve it or not. how was your experience with him and his staff?

I had surgery with Dr Lane formerly of BG.  I had a great experience and am still having a great time losing weight and inches.  My care at UTMC was great and Dr Lane's staff was and is a tremendous help.   Good luck with your surgery when you get it scheduled.  Any other questions please ask.

I, too, live in Perrysburg and just joined this group today.  I noticed your blog about Dr. Lane.  I recently attended his informational seminar (as well as Dr. Lalor's in BG and Dr. White in Toledo).  Is there a support group offered at UTMC following surgery?  And, how did you choose Dr. Lane over other physicians?

I too had Dr. Lane as my surgeon.  I had VSG on September 30th and have lost 70 lbs.  I have 100 lbs. to go and will do it.  Dr. Lane and Amy started a support group early this year.

I also had surgery with Dr Lane also and loved him and his staff.  I am from 2 hours away and it was well worth the trip there.  He also got me covered by insurance.

IF YOU DON'T MIND ME ASKING WHAT TYPE OF INSURANCE DO YOU HAVE AND HOW LONG DID IT TAKE TO GET APPROVED? I'M WANTING THE VSG TOO BUT CONCERNED WITH APPROVAL WITH MY INSURANCE BCBS.

You might check out Dr. Pleatman, just outside of Detroit. 

If you're insurance won't cover it, he's doing the VSG for $11,200, including everything.

I had mine with him and was very pleased. I would recommend him for any laparoscopic abdominal surgery. He's somewhat easygoing and easy to talk with.

I went to Dr Lalor's and Dr Lane's info sessions and liked them both. But my insurance wouldn't cover it, so I did some research and found out about Dr P, and he's only about 100 miles from BG. Even if my insurance covered a laparoscopic procedure I would certainly consider Dr P for it. Things may move pretty quickly if you're self pay. You won't have so many hoops to jump through.

I have a friend who had RNY in December with Dr. Lalor.  She really liked him and has done very well.  I myself went to Dr. Lane and had a VSG on September 30th.  My care was excellent pre and post surgery.  His staff is absolutely wonderful.  They have started a support group that meets once a month at UTMC.  Amy is the leader but Dr. Lane was there last month.  I can honestly say I look forward to going to the doctor.  I've lost  70 lbs. and feel absolutely wonderful.  I have 100 lbs to go and know I will do it.

I had Dr lalor and love him!! I was self pay patient and wood co hospital gave me a interest free 5 year payment plan.  He is very good and good bedside manner.  you are treated very well.  he is very thoroough with my nutritionist visits and i felt very wellprepared for surgery.  good luck, and can't wait to see ya on the VSG forum.  Darcy
