Need Help - do not qualify for Lap Band or GBP - Need Adipex
How/Why were you not qualified??? Insurance denined?? WLS Doc said NO?? PCP doc said no??? Not high enough BMI Below 35???
Your PCP should be able to write your RX if they think it's ok.

I had never heard of Adipex...so I did a google search on it....my understanding is that it should only be used for a couple weeks, and loses it effectiveness after that time, so my question is---why use it?

Adipex was in my list of stuff I've tried, worked great, lost 60 pounds. Then when my dad got sick, I stress ate right back up and then some.
So now I have diabetes, and my bmi isn't high enough for insurance to pay for surg, bless their anal retentive little hearts. I decided I want to keep my legs, eyes and kidneys, so I am taking the money out of my 401k and paying cash for the procedure.
Adipex is expensive and once you stop using it, you will gain unless you have made major changes in your lifestyle.
Good luck whatever you choose.
