Still looking for doctor(s)

Can anyone suggest a good endocrinologist -- in the Dayton area, preferably, but I'll go to Columbus if I have to?  I could just check to see who is on my insurance company's provider list, but I'd rather hear some personal recommendations.

I'm also looking for a doctor who can help me figure out why I'm not getting any benefit from my old VBG, without trying to convince me to have more surgery.

Have you selected a bariatric surgeon yet? Dr. Teel is in Dayton and I'm confident he would recommend one at Miami Valley for you. I was diagnosed with diabetes in October and had my DS surgery in Janurary. I was diabetes free at 14 hours post op and it has never resurfaced...so I never needed an endocrinologist. But, I do think he recommends one for those who choose other bariatric surgeries besides the DS (which boasts a 98% cure rate for diabetes). He also does the band, sleeve and RNY (as well as the DS) so I'm sure he has a recommendation for those who still need an endocrinologist and who are educated on the needs of bariatric patients.

I'm not looking for a bariatric surgeon.  I had my surgery 17 years ago, a VBG, and I'm not anxious to consider more surgery at this time until I can figure out why the first one didn't work.  I have heard that bariatric surgery actually can make the symptoms of PCOS worse.  I know that I was probably dealing with that long before I became obese, although didn't know it at the time.  I've been to the website, and didn't find any resources available for people who didn't want to have surgery.  But thanks for the info.
