New w/ questions
I did not have any insurance problems
I am 10 weeks post op - had surgery 11/13/09 RNY
As to surgery pain - I had alot of pain - especially where they cut the old stomach - I was also allergic to the pain meds so I had to deal w/tylenol 3 only. I had about two weeks of bad pain however each day got better.
I didn't feel hungry the first two weeks however after that, every 3-4 hours, I'm hungry. You don't want to let yourself get too hungry because you will eat faster and more and then you will hurt if not dump. One of my problems is drinking the water. I need to get that undercontrol because I only drink maybe 1-2 bottles of water and the rest is decaff tea.
As to energy, you will feel dragged out at first however I take vitamin b-12 shots every two weeks and then the vitamin b-12 supplement daily - it works for me.
I have lost 40 lbs since my surgery so that is about 4 lbs a week - I have a hard time staying off the scale however I do notice that if I dont exercise, the weight doesnt come off - when I exercise, I can bet the next day I am at least 1 lbs lighter.
Depending on what you choose as your tool (i.e. RNY, lapband, DS, etc) remember it is only a tool and you will still need to work at it - it is definitely not a quick fix.
Remember - chew, chew, chew, and drink and exercise!
