Central Ohio Dr needed?

Can someone recommend a good Dr in the Central Ohio area?  Preferrably in Columbus?

Are you looking for a surgeon?  If so, I highly recommend Dr. Stephan Myers at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.  His program is called Fresh Start Bariatrics and it is a comprehensive program -- it includes the usual components (psych eval, medical evaluation, working with a registered dietician, etc.) but it also has an excellent post op exercise program.  It is designed for people who are obese and have not exercised; you work one-on-one with an exercise physiologist who teaches you how to exercise and monitors you medically.  I cannot say enough good things about the program and the difference that exercise has made in my weight loss.  If you need a primary care doc, please clarify and I can make some recommendations -- i work in health care.  good luck!  Alex

It depends on which surgery you are planning to have.  If you are getting the DS (Duodenal Switch), I don't think there are doctors in Columbus.  You would have to come to Dayton.  We have some of the best.

   I AGREE AND RECOMMEND DR MYERS....HE IS WONDERFUL AND HIS STAFF S SO CARING, I WOULD STAY AWAY FROM MT CARMEL..MY SISTER IN LAW WENT THERE AND THEY DID NOT MAKE HER POUCH SMALL ENOUGH... SHE DID NOT LOOSE WHT SHE WANTED...WT LOS STOPPED AFTER 6 MO

I and several of my friends have had Dr. Timothy Custer from the Barix Clinic over by Groveport.  He is an excellent surgeon, the hospital caters to the obese, the nursing care was excellent and the follow-up has been good also.  One of the girls had the surgery done during the state of Ohio's re-certification of the clinic and had a state person follow her case from the beginning, clear through the surgery.  The state person came and told her after the surgery that Dr. Custer was and excellent surgeon.  They are there to ding you not praise you, so I take that as a vote of confidence.

I used Dr. Mikami at Ohio State Univ Med Ctr...and I love him.  He is in the same office as Dr. Needleman - who I also hear good things about.
