DS WLS
In DAYTON you have 2 docs who are Great at DS/BPD
Dr Rita Anderson http://www.newlifesurgery.com/ Kettering Hospital
Dr Maguire http://premierbariatricassociates.com/default Miami Valley Hospital
They use to work together but then Dr. Maguire left and started the WLS program at MVH.
Both have great after support and both have staff member who have had BPD/DS
I know both do revisions also.
Good Luck,
Robin

Thank you so much, I just got off the phone with Dr. Curry's office and the insurance girl is calling my insursance to see if I have a wls revision clause in my policy. She said the Anthem PPO is a whole new ball game than medicare which is my secondary insurance. Dr. Curry does not do DS and I am going to talk to him as to why he doesn't do that yet and what he thinks the best revision or solution would be for me. I trust him and I do not in no way blame him for my lap band failure. You know that old saying "if it sounds too good to be true than is probably is too good to be true". I am afraid of DS because losing wt and being able to eat what ever just sounds like heaven. I don't want to have another surgery if it is going to have a dead end street for me just like my band has. And, maybe I haven't given my band the proper restart time yet. I am still trying to work with my band while making a decision and researching. Wow I am back to being scared to death again. Will I ever be happy with my wt. I don't feel good about me anymore and I was being too. Losing 120 pounds did a lot for me. I can't even imagine what I will feel like losing another 100 to 150. I want it so bad but I know that I will want to keep that dream once I reach it and I will some way some how. Thank you so much for the support you give to everyone especially me and I am new here.

Hi Wings,
I am Kym in Dayton, the above surgeons listed are very good. I just wanted you to be prepared for Dr. Curry to try and scare you out of a DS. Even before my surgery, he wrote to me that I should not pursue it blah, blah blah. It was the very best descion that I ever made. If you have any questions feel free to PM me or visit us on the DS board.
Good Luck,
Kym

At goal for 4 years!
Yep, well I can pretty much tell ya that is what is going to happen. I am going to see him Tuesday and I want to here his side of the story on DS and why he does not like although I don't know if he likes it or not. He does do VGS and I am going to ask him why he does not do the DS Hum it seems to me that he is working up to that lol.

Don't forget Dr. Teel who's been in partnership with Dr. Maguire for several years now. He's the only one in Dayton that does it lap rather than open too.
Dr. Maguire will only do distal revisions. He doesn't do a full RNY to DS revision and I don't think he does any band revisions.
