Need a good doctor in Ohio! Anyone have good results to tell me?
Dr. Dan of Summa Bariatrics in Akron -- BUT since you are near Columbus, my recommendation is to find someone close AND good. Aftercare is hugely important, and having a relationship with your surgeon and primary care physician is crucial. Ideally, your surgeon and PCP should know and like or at least respect each other. They'll need to cooperate and help you plan your future health care. Your system won't be normal -- and the research will likely keep helping us change our approach to supplementation, diet, and even how we manage aging. Having folks who are proactive in these areas and work together is probably the best way to keep on top of it all -- so if you are interviewing docs, make time to also ask about how your surgeon communicates with your PCP, etc.etc.
Good luck -- you are smart to investigate!

Hello I seen your post and I had Bradley Needlemen at OSU Medical Center. check out his web site www.medicalcenter.osu.edu I highly recommened him his staff is great and they teach you how to loose weight and maintain the weight loss. What a program he did my RNY with 6 small cuts had no trouble after surgery. 7 weeks out and loss 92 pounds. Feel great.
Hi Tracy,
I have to agree with Paula C. and DanS. Dr. Myers really does care about his patients, and he does have a comprehensive program. His staff is also wonderful.
I had my surgery on the 10th and post op had some internal bleeding and needed to have 4 units of blood. This all happened around 11p the night of my surgery and Dr. Myers called me personally to make sure i was ok with the transfusion and then at 1am he showed up at the hospital and sat with me for a bit. None of the staff could get a blood draw from me unless they used ultrasound so there was Dr. Myers drawing my blood so as not to wait an hour for the specialist to get up there with equipment. the next day he sent me down for an MRI to check on the bleeding which had stopped. He then cancelled an appointment he had in Cincinnati to stay just in case anything should happen. He reassured me that it probably wouldn't but wanted to be there just in case. He didn't feel right leaving my care in the hands of another dr. He also gives his patients his cell number in case they need him anytime. Don't know of any Drs. who give out their cell number to patients. Shoot my OB didn't even do that. LOL. Oh and by the way tomorrow will be 3 weeks and I've lost 30lbs since coming home from the hospital on the 13th. Good Luck with your search. And check out several and make sure you are comfortable with the Dr. you choose. That's whats important.
