Need a good doctor in Ohio! Anyone have good results to tell me?
I used Dr. Myers @ Fresh Start @ Riverside Methodist Hospital. They have a comprehensive program whi*****ludes: medical, dietary, and psychological and exercise. Dr. Myers really cares about each of his patients before and after surgery. He holds seminars in Columbus on two Tuesdays and then 2 seminars on a Saturday each month. You can go to Ohio Health and search for him. Good luck...Paula Chumbley

I'll add an "Amen!" to the entry about Dr Meyers of Fresh Start Bariatrics at Riverside Hospital. The entire staff goes out of their way to make you feel special. A couple of weeks before I had my surgery I was trying to stablize my blood sugar. He gave me his cell phone number and had me calling him three times a day!!! I've been on the planet a long time and I've never heard of a doctor giving his cell phone number to his patients. He's the best!
I second the recommendation for Dr. Phillip Schauer at the Cleveland Clinic; he's one of the best surgeons in the country. The only downside to the Clinic's program is that you can sometimes wait a long time when you have an appointment with Dr. Schauer; he's a busy, busy surgeon. The upside to that is that I never felt he was in a hurry when he was with me; he took the time to answer all my questions thoroughly and to make sure I had the information I needed.

Hello, I live in Columbus and will be having my RNY bypass at Mt Carmel Medical Center of Baraitric Excellence. My surgeon is Dr Patricia Chobin at Mid Ohio Surgical. I like her a lot . She took over as my breast cancer surgeon when the orig doc left the group to go on her own. DR Chobin heads up the Bariatric center at Mt Carmel and is a noted skilled surgeon who my PCP says is the only surgeon he would send his own mother to for WLS. She is friendly but puts up with no nonsense and expects the same from her patients. All of the other drs in the group are avail in the event DR Chobin is on vacation or unavail and they are all excellent. Call the hospital or Mid Ohio and ask them to send you info on the free seminar that starts the process. Hope this might have helped. Feel free to ask anything at all if I can possibly be of help. My BMI is 65 and currently I am at 411 but planning the countdown as soon as we can schedule the WLS....Pat
