Hotel recommendations

Hi:  I am having my revision at Miamia Valley on the 24th and booked my hotel reservations at the Homewood Suites.  I'm feeling a bit guilty for staying at such an expensive hotel for the long stay. 

Anyone have any suggestions for staying in the Fairborn / Dayton area? Is a kitchenette that important?

Check out the Marriot downtown Dayton
It's about 2 miles from the hospital?  Not a bad part of town either.  I've stayed there before prior to moving here.  99 dollars a night right now.

Red Roof Inn Miamisburg, great part of town, very safe area, 15 minutes from the hospital (it's a few exits south of the hospital) 50 dollars a night.  I drive by it all the time, looks well kept up.

Extended Stay South Dayton.  Great part of town.  Basically a suite type hotel.  15 minutes from hotel (maybe a little more, but I leave at 7 in the morning and I breeze by the hospital by 7:15ish.
54 dollars a night

I'm not sure which is better, closer to the hospital or closer to the airport.

There is also a really nice Hampton Inn in Centerville around Yankee.  My parents stay there everytime they come to town and it is super nice.  Not sure about the prices.  Are you coming to town alone?  If you need anything at all feel free to send me a PM and I'll give you my phone number. 

Hi Robyn:   I will look into that place as well.  

I will be traveling and staying by myself.  I don't know how I will be feeling by the second week and if I would want to be in an area I might want to get out and walk.  A safe well lit neighborhood would be best.

A refrigerator is important.  You'll probably care less about the kitchenette.

Some hotels may have them available if you ask.  I had a mariott put on in my room after I asked for it.  Their room service would make me absolutely whatever I wanted.  I just looked at the menu to determine what was available ingredient-wise, and I dictated what to make for me. 

I did call the one in Dayton  and she said no, they don't have them.  Sometimes it is all in who you get on the phone.

I got all my reservations in place, I'm now just concerned about getting a taxi to the hospital at 4am.

Call the hotel and explain to them what you need.  They may be able to get you there via shuttle or something.
