NEED HELP FINDING A DR...

hello...sorry i haven't been around this board much since moving here to ohio...but now i am in need of some help finding a PCP that knows about WLS people. i am living in willoughby now and have aetna insurance through work. they gave me a list of dr's but i would rather have some info from people that go to dr's here and know how they are so i am not running to different dr's trying to find one that is good for me. hope one of you can help me in finding one!!

ps just had my 2 year surgiversary and am down to 188 pounds finally!!! need to have blood tests again to see if my vit d and folic acis levels come up since blood test in august. otherwise i am doing fantastic!!! only regret is i didn't have WLS sooner!!!

I highly recommend Dr. Adrian Dan at Summa Bariatrics Center of Excellence in Akron.  It may be a drive for you, but you won't regret the decision to meet with Dr. Dan.  He performed surgery on me on July 8, 2008 and I have recieved excellent after-care from him and his excellent, caring staff.  THe weight is falling off and I feel like a million bucks!  Please call his office at 330-375-6590.  You won't be sorry!

My PCP is Dr. Jay Taylor with lake family practice in mentor. Great DR. Great practice. Another dr. I would recomended is Dr. Solman he is with the WL program at St. Vincents down town. Both are taking new pataints. Both are very good but Dr. Solman works directly with the WLS surgeons at ST. Vincents. He works right out of the ST. V. WL program office. I will be seeing him on the 4th for my 3 month check up and again for my 6 month and 1 year follow up. Good luck on finding a doctor.

If you start your support group let me and my wife know we are looking for a group the one we were attending in mentor has not been meeting lately. My wife had her surgery in july mine was a month later.

if i start up a support group, it will be an INFORMAL one...i have no training, only getting together to talk things over with others and helping each other out with new ideas and maybe recipes to share...trying to keep each other on track lending a helping hand ya know...sound like something you want to take part in? let me know...

Sorry for the confusion I am always posting under my wifes avatar because when she is done with the laptop she hands it to me and I forget to sign her out and me in. I will talk with her tonight and keep you up to date.
