How many calories does everyone eat in a day?

I am just curious I know with the lap band I am required to eat 65-75 grams of protein a day, however I have never really been given a calorie guidline to follow.  What is the average number of calories everyone is consuming ?

Your best bet is to go to someplace like fitday, thedailyplate or some other calorie counter.
With RNY the first few months most prople are getting about 400-600 per day, but as the months go on the calories go up. With DS you can eat more calories. Also with the band you can eat more that is why you lose slower. At 5 years out  rny I eat anywhere between 900-1400 it all depends on the day, mood, and a lot of other factors. You might want to post on the band forum and see what they have to say.
Good Luck,
Robin

I try to get in 1000 to 1200 calories a day. You may want to ask your surgeon or nutritionist since all doctors have different rules.

I also shoot for 1000-1200 calories per day.

Hi there,

I am between 700-900 cals a day, once in awhile I do hit 1000, but that is rare right now.  I do try to get 60-80 grams of protein in a day, which can be difficult.

Good luck to you

Hi Kim,  I usually end up eating between 1000 - 1200 cals. a day.  My nut doesn't really talk about calories.  I'm more worried about getting my 60-80 gm of protein in and keeping my net carbs below 65gm.  That's been a big challenge for me.

I had an intense need to know and cornered my nutritionist into fessing up some numbers.  The ones she gave me are:

My calories should be 40% protein, 30% carb, and 30% fat.  More protein is fine, but more carb or fat is a problem.  Calorie total should be, at the six month to one year stage between 800 and 1200.
