Robyn is out of surgery!

I just got this message from her DH:

Robyn came through her surgery just fine.  She had one minor complication.  Due to her hernia, they were unable to do the laproscopic type and had to do the open.  The doctor said that since her hernia was so large it had pushed her stomach up and caused it to toughen.  This puts her at an increased risk of developing a leak.

Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.  Thanks so much!

I'm sorry she had to be changed to open surgery (but at least now I'm not the ONLY recent "open" in the group!).  She'll be sore for a while, to be sure, but I'm glad she's out of surgery.  I'll be in to see her tomorrow afternoon.

Thanks for the update. Doc Rita really likes to play it safe so I know she went open so the WLS would be saver over all. Like Lorna said she will be a little sore for a whild but the get you up and walking within a few hours.

Thanks to you all for your thoughts, prayer and well wishes.  This is my first time on the computer since I got home on Thursday afternoon.

I was supposed to have laprascopic surgery, but when she went in my hietal hernia was so big she had to cut me open.  So now I have the small incisions for the laprascopic as well as the midline incision.  Luckily though I didn't have much gas pain!

I am really tired but trying not to take my pain meds too much.  I am walking and drinking as much as I can, but I am not close to where I need to be just yet.  I am working my way to my goal and hope to get there before too long.

Thanks again everyone.  For now I am taking it easy so might not be on too often in the next couple of weeks.
