Hi I am going to a seminar on Thursday and I was just wondering has anyone had him do there surgery? If so I am looking for your experiences good, and bad so far he seems to be a really good surgeon .How was his staff, your care, and what kind of hoops did you have to jump through. Last but not least I called them and the lady told me there was no program fees but I was just curious as to what you had to pay I know it depends on your insurance but I am talking program fees. Any and all input is very helpful thanks.

I didn't  have Dr. Maguire although I did meet him in the hospital.  I had his partner Dr. Teel do my RNY.  I cannot say enough good things about the entire practice!!  Jennifer who is the girl that submits the paperwork really stayed on top of my insurance company and got an approval within three days.  The entire staff is great and I love my doctor.  Dr. Maguire saw me in the hospital as well and he was very nice.  I had to pay the Doctors office I think 1000 dollars, I think however that I will be getting this back because I have already paid my thousand dollar deductable this year due to another surgery.  I also paid the anesthesia practice 750.  I also think that I will be getting this back as well.  You will be in good hands with this surgical practice.

Dr. Maguire didn't do my lap band, his partner Dr. Teel did, but I have a friend who had Dr. Maguire for her RNY almost four years ago and she speaks very highly of him. Lynn said everything I wanted to say about their practice and staff - they are all great! I was also treated very well at Miami Valley Hospital.

I had to pay my co- pay of $25 dollars for my first two visits, but since surgery I haven't paid anything for office visits. I don't have to for the first three months - I don't know if this if just for lap band or all surgeries. Since I hadn't met my deductable yet, I did have to pay that which was close to $600. I'll also have to pay $200 for the nurtitionist - my insurance requires it but won't pay. I think that's it.

I have friends who have had both Dr Maguire and Dr Teel, and they both liked them.  Both surgeons have excellent reputations.  Some people are a little put off my Dr Maguire's quiet personality, but you will be in very good hands with him.

Dr Maguire did my revision from RNY to Distal RNY in January and I adore him and his entire staff.  They will do whatever they can to help you get the surgery you want.  True he is a bit on the quiet side but that is alright as long as he knows what he's doing in the operating room.  I didn't have to pay for anything but my co-pays.

Hello!
Dr.  Maguire did my surgery 4 months ago, and he is great.  He is quiet, but I fully trusted him.  Jennifer Rocks, she handles the insurance.  The staff is great, MVH nurses and staff are wonderful.  I can not say enough great things, I wouldnt have let anyone but Dr Maguire do my surgery, I felt comfortable and I was taken care of.  A great thing about Dr Maguire is, he is at every single Support meeting, he stops in too make sure we are all doing ok, I think it is awesome he does that.
I had to pay $1000 to MVH  Fully reimbursed
$1000 o Dr.  Maguire  fully reimbursed
an & $750 to the anastesiologist   not reimbursed
Hope this helps,  See you at a meeting?
Molly

Thanks guys for all the help I go Monday and I am seeing Dr. Teel which I have heard lots of wonderful things about him as well. I did see Dr. maguire @ the seminare and all of you are correct he doesnt like to answer questions a whole lot he seems as though he is very shy which many have said also.  I am going to my nutritionalist appt. tomorrow so things are moving. I did call my insurance as well and found out I have no max out of pocket, and no co pays. I havent been sleeping well I quit smoking 1 week ago so I could be smoke free to have surgery, and now I am working on  a few other things like no pop, cutting down my sugar intake. I am just working on one thing at a time so I am not trying to deal with everything after surgery. Again thanks for your input all of your advice and input helps a lot.
